Its disgusting that Westover can say it Rhys fault and blame the refs! ARE YOU KIDDING YOU he says that the refs should have teched rhys well they should have fouled Anstey for the screen, but wait Rhys is the protoganist Anstey started and finsihed it. He didnt have to elbow him in the damn face. Westover is a frickin joke and Anstey is a dirty coward.

I just hope the NBL tribunal do the right thing and give him a game off. I am not sure they will have the balls to do it but I am hoping.

A fine for Al Westover should also be issued for his comments - his post match press conference and comments about Anstey confirmed that he is a idiot.

I always had a bit of a soft spot for Anstey as he is an ex Magic player, but after last night, that has changed. It was just a low act, and I hope he is suspended for Game 4. And that Al Westover is a dickhead! Saying that Carter provoked him? Whatever Al, you just keep telling yourself that if that makes you feel better. In the meantime, maybe you should get your eyes checked!

My hubby and I went at it at each other over the incident .. he being tigers and I south dragons.  He reckons that antsy was provoked by carter, being nudged and fowled leading up to the outburst.  My point to him is.. thats basketball, there are fowls and charges and all kinds of contact, all !!!! the time.  Professionals do not retaliate, get revenge !! .. Antsy has just relegated himself into the realms of Heal and the likes.

You know what though, in a way I feel a little sorry for the boy.  Afterall he is facing knee surgery and probably the postponement or possible end of his career as top dog at Tigers.  He knows there are plenty of up and coming players just as good, without knee injuries.  His team was failing miserably and the stress of it all was just too much. Never-the-less, a show of poor character and professionalism to do what he did, no matter what.

They can say, he was pushed to it, but in the end, nobody made him do it, he did it HIMSELF !!

I personally don't want him suspended, I didn't even want him ousted for the game .. I am already getting it from my husband, that we win by cheating, we need antsy out so we can win.  I want to beat them with their full squad so they have NO excuses. 

Yes but we have already bet the Tigers 5 times this year and twice in the championship with Anstey in so i think that your Husbands agrument is crap! And Anstey has had it coming to him for a long time anyway and deserves to be punished, but don't feel sorry as he will just GET AWAY WITH IT AGAIN!!

I agree, we have more than proven our ability, hubby had even said to me, I will only agree you are good when you can win against us at our home, we did that, but for some reason he forgot what he had said .. lol.

I tried to explain how many times Anstey had gone in hard with the elbow in defence etc. not only in the last game but all season and our players didn't, get fed up and take revenge,we kept our dignity and stayed professional, game focussed and moved on with it.

You know if one of ours had done what Anstey had I would be so pissed with them, I wouldn't be defending them thats for sure.

As you said Angie i could see Anstey and the Tigers throughout the whole match getting more and more frustrated.

You could see the Anstey incident happening before it happened.

Btw great job Vukona and co for jumping in for their team-mate and flying the flag showing the Tigers we are not putting up with their shit.

This is ridiclious how can Anstey get off with that light sentence that is pathetic but you know what makes this worse is what Mcpeake has to say about it. Mcpeake said if Anstey was sentenced they would threaten legal action against the NBL, so he could play the final 2 games.

He reckons if they started calling the game right they wouldnt be in this mess.... WHAT THE HELL we have been treated bad by the refs in no way did we hack anstey or anything like that last game it was good D and Anstey was to lazy to get in front of his man its pathetic. Also Mcpeake has threatened that they will Slap and Bang on us, that is a bunch of poor sports and shows their afraid of us. We dont have to resort to that crap and if they do I hope someone goes over and starts a proper brawl with Anstey and knocks hes goofy head in THE TIGERS ARE A FREAKING JOKE.

I did not think the NBL would have the guts to see deal with this. I have contacts at AFL clubs and they all think the Administration of the NBL is a complete joke - this is another example of why.

Well I am glad they found him guilty and slapped a ban on him, and in a way I am glad they postponed that for a year so he can play and the tigers have no excuses.  I agree, no reason for Anstey to react the way he did, refs make bad calls all season and all finals games, and nobody looses it like that, very unprofessional and he only has himself to blame, nobody made him do what he did but his own loss of control. 

The decission reminds me of the ones in Aussie Rules, typical collingwood stuff. lmao (25 yr Geelong supporter here)
