I have noticed that alot of people seems to be really angry about the whole situation we find ourselves in with it being highly unlikely our Dragons will be playing at the very least this season. So who do you blame, Cowan and Germinder or BA for their shit plans??
I for one think the attacks at both of the Dragons co-owners is unwarranted and is just an angry reaction to the unfortunate situation, rather than really analysing the situation.

Yes but Dragons and Tigers voted against the 1 year break then pull out, they should have known a break was needed before and voted for it,now they have fled the league has suffered in a huge way. Its not all there fault its everyones.

Well the Dragons and tigers didnt want a year off, like many of us, but than i surpose that it just became impossible to get the league up and running and with the rest of the teams not wanting to wait they left the league.
I believe that the Dragons and Tigers did the right thing and i just wish there had been more stuff decided on and announced by BA. Still they have released nothing!!!!

I am angry at everyone as a supporter. I do my job as a supporter and am ready to do my job as a supporter, taking family and friends along aswell, but others are not doing theirs. I am also involved in my local basketball teams, scoring, husband coaching, doing tornament and getting the kids along to as many camps, skills days etc. as possible. Up and coming basketballers, but where are they coming to ??? overseas.
You know they are beginning to question where they will end up now. Their hopes and dreams of possibly becoming part of an NBL team are sliding away, and NBA or Europe is too far a jump for their minds possibilites. Without professional basketball in Australia, kids will choose a different path. My 14 year old son has been a basketball freak and follower for years, he breathes the stuff, but he has just played his 5th game in the fourths at our local footy team, they have won every game so far and he is pumped, he has always followed Geelong as has his father and I and he is now being consumed with AFL. If the NBL take a year off, he will be a year older and his Tigers are no longer the team he has followed I doubt he will come back to it :-(((( and I doubt my own loyalties to the sport aswell.
Revamp as you go .. F1 does it, AFL does it .. If we take a year off youngsters will loose faith in the NBL and move off to all the other sports that are at hand, (Football(soccer), AFL, NRL, Tennis even Golf). What is it that the NBL are doing wrong. We not only lose players to overseas, coaches overseas, but supporters of the sport to other sports.
Everyone I talk to, family, extended family, friends and co-workers all say to me, "why do you bother, NBL is DEAD! .. omg ! they already think its dead, or are they right.
I am angry at those that haven't done their job. At those that are killing the NBL

Well said Angie.
The NBL has been a tough sell to my non basketball mates in recent years but now it's damn near impossible to convince them that, despite all the negative press they read, the quality of the league is any better than a backyard game.
Everyone involved (owners and BA) love the game. There are enough people out there like you and I (and your son) who love the game. It's a time of unknowns at the moment but there's enough passion out there for the game itself (not just for one or 2 teams) to ensure that it survives, but I think that the new board needs to take big chances to try and convince the public (and businesses and tv) to take another chance on our game.

I totally understand your frustration, and by the way it is good to hear from you:D.
I just do not agree with revamp as you go, because this season has already been tarnished as a joke and with due respect i dont believe f1 or afl has been in as much trouble as we are in. i think do it like the a-league has with taking a year off. They didnt lose fans rather they gained fans, and dispite me being really bored and dissapointed at having no bball, i would rather go to a professional event than some cheeply put together embarassment.

Cheaply put together .. hmm.. I thought thats what was happening long before dragons came about. Dragons were the ones putting on the show, drawing the crowds and making it all exciting again. I was so happy, we were setting the stage, raising the bench mark, and giving fans and players what they needed and deserved. But it was dubbed "Disco Antics!" that says it all doesn't it. The powers that be that know nothing choke everything up. Maybe they should hold a conference with the people that make the clubs/sport possible, US the supporters, I bet we could sort it out as we Go.

I agree with you Angie . We made it happen. It was exciting at the games. Of course I love the good standard of Basketball and now it will be just a bit above the BV. You will have a few hot shots who do everything and the rest just hang around . They are unfit. and don,t and can,t defend I find it boring. and I have watched a long time. Lets hope they don,t start until next year as there has been too much negative publicity. We need new marketing and some imput from the Sun or Age.
