Save Our South Dragons

If the Tigers are the only Melbourne team will you get behind them or leave the sport for ever..

Im leaving. Unless their is a miracle rebirth of the Dragons..

As much as I don't like the Tigers and as much as I can't stand the cage...I'll still go and watch. If there's basketball on, I'll go and support it.

I guess, as unlikely as it seems, I'd even like the "new" league to be a massive success and leave the Dragons looking foolish for sitting it out.

reloaded: would you leave "forever"? or would you come back if the Dragons were able to re-enter the league after a season away?

I am a basketball nut, I was tigers before south came along.  I supported south because it was fresh and needed some of us to jump over to the newbies.  I fell in love with them.  But I am ANGRY .. I feel jilted.  If there is no South Dragons team, too bloody right I will follow the other melbourne team, and South had better realise that this WILL happen.  They had better also realise, trust in the stability of the team and the opportunity to have a long standing team supporters can follow for years to come will be gone.

I have followed Geelong in AFL since I can remember, I began supporting them because they were the team at the time I began supporting and were on the bottom of the ladder, I supported them all the way through and now I am loving every second of it.

Thats what I expected to have with South Dragons, I tell you .. I am really PISSED !!

Im going for the Hawks i was in the save the Hawks campaign so ill switch to  them until the Dragons come back,also yes i will go to as many Tigers games that are ion a Saturday or Sunday night but wont really go for them i just want to watch Bball.

I love all sports. Now Basketball in Australia has pissed me off for the last time. I've been through all the Magic, Titans, Giants etc. No more basketball for me. So many summer sports to follow, and for me, basketball wont be one of them

I have been through all the changes too. and I would NEVER follow the Tigers I think they think they are the only team in  Melbourne but I remember when the league first started they would not be in it. I cannot remember the reason now but It was a few years before they joined.  Spectres was the team in melb with Giants, Saints, and I think Frankston . My family will not follow NBL either they prefer the local VBL.  I won,t watch TV either.  I am very sorry that a lot of the Dragons people have missed out I am sure Tigers won,t get many to their games If they do they will be for the opposite team.

South what Dragons players are going to play for the Tigers?? Anyway, i would find it totally hypocritical if people went to Tigers games as many people including this forum, said that they wouldnt even attend Dragons games if they were at the cage.. Also whether it is the Dragons or another organisation, there will be a second team in Melbourne. Dont know whether I would support them as i did the Dragons, i surpose if it was not by Tigers people, eg Gaze and did it properly like the South Dragons, then i would consider it..

does anyone know how much it would cost to buy half of the South Dragons?? Would it be like $100,000 and then you would have to suffer the loses or gains??

I am grabbing a Taipans membership so good on you guys for supporting basketball.

Since the Dragons have left the NBL I've found myself following the Crocs, I don't know why but there's just something attractive about a team which can ACTUALLY gain the support of the community like the Crocs have! A support which we used to have, and what the Tigers have not had for years!

I still go for Hawks but i have been to every Tigers home game this season,i spose i support them when they play and now they have Hodge and Wortho... unless they play Hawks down here...

I cant wait to see if Dragons are back i cant see myself going for a melbourne Victory team or another Melbourne 2nd team that will only last 3 years...
